Founded in 2006, MOONCRY has emerged as a formidable force in the realms of Dark Melodic Metal and Symphonic Metal, captivating with their mystic and dark, epic and aggressive, melodic and emotional soundscapes.

Drawing influences from iconic bands such as Nightwish, Sentenced, Amorphis and Blind Guardian, the band expertly blends aggressive sounds with emotional depth, crafting an immersive musical experience that resonates with fans across the globe.

The journey of MOONCRY began with the release of their debut album „Legacy of Hope” in 2008. The album set the stage for their subsequent achievements within the metal community.

Their sophomore release, “Rivers Of Heart”, launched in 2010, marked a significant turning point.

Garnered with very positive reviews, it secured MOONCRY a worldwide distribution deal with Twilight Records in July of the same year.

The accolades continued to pour in as “Rivers Of Heart” received glowing reviews across multiple publications, culminating in it being voted the Best Album of 2011 and MOONCRY being named as the Surprise of the Year.

A memorable performance at the prestigious Metalfest Helvetia in May 2011 soared further the band’s reputation, alongside notable acts such as Arch Enemy, Amorphis, and Sabaton.

In mid-2011, MOONCRY secured a new distribution agreement with CMM and its division SAOL, allowing their music to reach even wider audiences.

The band’s third album “A Mirror’s Diary”, released in 2013, was met with overwhelmingly euphoric acclaims from numerous magazines, further solidifying their special status within the metal genre.

In May 2014, MOONCRY was awarded the title of „Masters of Symphonic Metal,“ performing at the festival with the same name, alongside renowned acts like Edenbridge, Leaves’ Eyes, and Delain.

Their live performances have seen them share stages with iconic bands at major festivals, including the Metaldays Festival in Slovenia in July 2015, where they stood alongside legends such as Saxon, Fear Factory, Queensrÿche, and Devin Townsend Project.

By the end of 2015, they further cemented their prestige with another appearance at the festival “Masters of Symphonic Metal.“

The band’s great evolution was recognised once again in early 2016 when “A Mirror’s Diary” was another time named Album of the Year for the year 2015, while the single „The Beast Within Me“ achieved a very remarkable success, remaining in the Cashbox US National Airplay Top 50 Rock Charts for 15 weeks, peaking at an impressive position of 16.

Currently, MOONCRY is undergoing exciting transformations with a re-designed lettering and a new line-up, featuring a new bassist and guitarist.

The band is in the studio, diligently working on new songs that promise to continue their legacy of captivating, darkly melodic metal.
